The School Counselling Program provides therapeutic counselling support to students through a Prevention and Early Intervention framework. The program focuses on supporting children’s social and emotional wellbeing, helping them build skills, confidence and resilience as they grow.
Highly skilled counselors work alongside students, schools and families to support positive outcomes and help children reach goals that strengthen their wellbeing, relationships and engagement at school.
School counselling offers flexible, child‑centred support tailored to individual and school community needs.

The School Counselling Program is available to students attending approved Tasmanian Catholic Education Primary Schools.
CatholicCare’s School Counselling program works collaboratively with students enrolled in a number of approved Tasmanian Catholic Education Primary and secondary high schools. Providing child- centered, short to medium term therapeutic support. Students can be referred to the School Counselling Program via their teachers, principal, parents and or guardians. The school counsellor will then engage with the parents to assess support needs and gain consent. The school counsellor will work with the student to provide the most suitable intervention.
This service is provided free of charge.
