On Christmas Day, CatholicCare Tasmania proudly hosted our very first Community Christmas Lunch in Southern Tasmania, continuing a tradition that has brought joy to the community for more than four decades. After 43 years of heartfelt service, Home Base entrusted us with the honour of carrying this event forward.

With the help of more than 80 volunteers, generous donors, and dozens of local businesses, we served close to 600 meals to Tasmanians who joined us for this day of connection and community.

In the lead-up to the event, we also ran a gift and fundraising drive, which received incredible support from across our community including, local parishes, catholic schools and local business’. Thank you to everyone who donated a plate or a gift, your kindness ensured that every guest felt the joy and hope of Christmas.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all CatholicCare Tasmania staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the day to make this event run smoothly. Your dedication and teamwork were instrumental in creating such a welcoming and festive celebration.
Special thanks to In The Hanging Garden for providing their beautiful venue and to Flint Kitchen for preparing a delicious Christmas meal for our guests. This event was a true testament to what we can achieve when we come together as a community.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the 2025 Community Christmas Lunch such a success.
