On Tuesday, 7 July we joined together with community, partners, supporters and colleagues.
Our CEO, Julia Mangan shared the following to introduce the refreshed rebrand to those in attendance:
Over the past two years, we have been on a journey of returning to our roots – reconnecting with our ethos, rediscovering what is unique and special about our organisation, and embracing what it truly means to do things the CatholicCare Tasmania way.
We have refocused and re-centred ourselves on our mission and identity. We have rediscovered the richness of Catholic Social Teaching and the values that shape the way we serve. At the centre of everything we do is the dignity of the human person.
That belief unites us and guides our commitment to the common good and community; solidarity; participation and subsidiarity; the dignity of work; care for our environment; and a preferential option for those who are vulnerable or marginalised.
Most importantly, we have found clarity, confidence and comfort in our foundations. And not in a narrow or exclusionary way. But in a way that truly reflects our catholicity – welcoming, inclusive and grounded in belonging.
Meeting people where they are. Seeing them for all their potential. Creating the time and space for people to make choices, learn, grow and thrive. And walking alongside them through every season of life.
As many of you know, CatholicCare Tasmania has grown significantly over time and now delivers a broad range of services and programs across the state. While that growth has enabled us to support more Tasmanians than ever before, almost 9,000 last year, it has also presented a challenge.
Internally, we now know exactly who we are. Our people are deeply committed to our mission and purpose. But we have not always had a clear and consistent way to tell our story. This project was about changing that.

We have created a unified expression of who we are, what we stand for, and the difference we make in the lives of Tasmanians every day. It is about coming home.
At the heart of the new brand is the image of a path. The path reflects the way we journey with people who seek our support. It speaks to our values of hope, courage, connection and authenticity.
It also draws inspiration from the story of the Good Samaritan – a powerful reminder of mercy that transcends racial, cultural and religious boundaries. It reminds us that our call is to support our neighbours in need. It reflects active and compassionate love. It reflects humanity when people are vulnerable, struggling or facing life’s challenges.
Most importantly, the path reminds us that our role is not to determine people’s destination. Our role is to walk beside them. To support them. To encourage them. To empower them. And to remain alongside them as they navigate their own journey. It is a reminder of what makes us different:
We do the hard things. We support people regardless of their background or circumstances. We do not turn people away. We find a way forward.
We work alongside individuals, families and communities facing complexity and uncertainty. We recognise the joy, importance and lifelong impact of healthy and safe childhoods.
We are unwavering in our pursuit of what is just, compassionate and right. We speak for Tasmanians who, for whatever reason and without judgement, are not represented in rooms like this. We advocate. We accompany. We create opportunities. And we work every day towards a Tasmania where everyone can flourish.
But we also have the privilege of sharing in some of life’s most hopeful moments. We have the privilege of caring for children in our early learning and care services. We walk alongside newly arrived members of our multicultural communities as they build a new life in Tasmania. We share in the lives of young people who have no one and nowhere to go. We celebrate achievements, milestones and fresh beginnings.
And every day we witness the extraordinary resilience, strength and potential of the people and communities we serve. That is who we are. And that is what this brand represents. Not a new direction. A renewed commitment. A clearer expression of who we have always been. It gives us a stronger platform to build trust, deepen community connections and create opportunities for future growth.
As you watch the video, I hope you see not simply a new visual identity, but a reflection of our shared purpose, our values and the extraordinary work undertaken every day across CatholicCare Tasmania.
A reflection of our history. A reflection of who we are today. And a strong foundation for the future.
