The arrival of a new baby can be both joyful and overwhelming. For some families, challenges relating to parenting confidence, housing instability, mental health, limited support networks or involvement with the child protection system can make the early months particularly difficult.
Bringing Baby Home (BBH) is CatholicCare Tasmania’s residential parenting program, providing up to 12 weeks of intensive support to help parents and newborn babies thrive in a safe, supportive and culturally inclusive environment.
The program offers families practical, day-to-day support around feeding, safe sleeping, settling and infant development, while also helping parents establish routines, build life skills and connect with services in the community. At its heart, Bringing Baby Home aims to strengthen and keep families together and support parents to safely care for their children. Provide the best start to life.
Over the years, the program has supported families to build confidence, strengthen their parenting skills and creating nurturing home environments for their children. For some families, this support has contributed to children remaining safely in the care of their parents and avoiding more intensive interventions.
