No Interest Loan Scheme

No Interest Loan Scheme, NILS, is a community lending service that envisions: ‘A Tasmania where everyone, regardless of income, has access to safe and affordable financial services and access to assistance to manage their finances.’

What does this program offer?

NILS offers no interest loans up to $2000 to help pay for everyday essentials including car repairs and registration, household essentials, education expenses, medical and dental costs, rental bonds and rates.

Who can access this program?

You will need to have:

  • A healthcare, pension or DVA card – or a working income of $55,000 gross or less.
  • Have somewhere stable to live but exceptions can be made – call 1300 301 650 to chat about your situation.
  • Capacity to repay the loan – A maximum of $40 per fortnight.

Interest-free loan payments up to a maximum of $40 per fortnight.
