About Us
CatholicCare Tasmania Psychological Services provides both individual counselling and psychological assessment services in Hobart and Launceston. Our registered and provisional psychologists are committed to providing a professional service, that support wellbeing in a caring and non-judgemental manner.
Psychological Assessment Services
Our Registered and Provisionally Registered Psychologists offer assessments for children ages 6+, adolescents and adults. Additional screeners can be added to the below assessments where other difficulties may be suspected, such as other neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health conditions.
Types of assessments
- Cognitive, Academic, and Adaptive Functioning to assess for Intellectual Disability
- Cognitive and Academic Assessment to assess for Specific Learning Disability or Specific Learning Difficulties.
- Diagnostic assessment for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
What to expect
Once we accept a referral, we take the time to gather important information about the individual to ensure a thorough and accurate assessment. This may include school reports, previous assessments, and other allied health documents. We also may speak with parents, caregivers, school staff or any other relevant key supports to better understand the individual’s strengths, challenges, and needs. Assessments can take place at schools, in organisational offices, or at one of our CatholicCare offices across the State - wherever feels most comfortable.
After the assessment, we provide a detailed report that outlines observations, results, conclusions, and, if relevant, a diagnosis. Most importantly, we include personalised recommendations to help support the individual at school, work, home and in their everyday life. We’ll then meet for a feedback session where we’ll go through the findings together and answer any questions. Our goal is to ensure every child, adolescent, or adult feels understood, supported, and confident about the next steps.
Fees
- Cognitive and Academic $1,800.00.
- Cognitive/Academic and Adaptive Functioning $2,100.00
- Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder $1,800.00.
- Multiple other screeners may be helpful that can be determined at the intake and discussed with you should fees exceed those listed. Additional screeners are charged between $150.00 and $300.00.
- Additional services or needs for assessments are charged at $195.00 per hour.
- Where travel is required, this is charged at $90.00 per hour.
Referrals can be faxed to (03) 7049 4064 or email to our psychologists.
