Psychological Assessment

What does this program offer?

About Us

CatholicCare Tasmania Psychological Services provides both individual counselling and psychological assessment services in Hobart and Launceston. Our practitioners work together as a skilled team and consist of Registered and Provisionally Registered Psychologists. Our practitioners are committed to providing services that support wellbeing in a caring and non-judgemental manner.

Psychological Assessment Services

Our Registered and Provisionally Registered Psychologists offer assessments for children ages 6+, adolescents and adults. Additional screeners can be added to the below assessments where other difficulties may be suspected, such as other neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health conditions.

Types of assessments

  • Cognitive, Academic, and Adaptive Functioning to assess for Intellectual Disability
  • Cognitive and Academic Assessment to assess for Specific Learning Disability or Specific Learning Difficulties.
  • Diagnostic assessment for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

What to expect

Once a referral has been accepted, the assessor will begin gathering all available and relevant information about the individual, such as school reports, previous assessment reports and other allied health reports. The assessor will also conduct interviews with parents/caregivers and school staff. The face-to-face portion of the assessment can be conducted in schools, other organisations offices or within our CatholicCare offices around the state.

Once the assessment is completed a comprehensive assessment report will provide observations, results, conclusions, diagnosis (if applicable) and recommendations on how best to support the individual. The assessor will deliver the report during a feedback session where you are able to ask any questions you may have about the assessment outcome.

Fees

  • Cognitive and Academic $1800.00.
  • Cognitive/Academic and Adaptive Functioning $2100.00
  • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder $1800.00.
  • Multiple other screeners may be helpful that can be determined at the intake and discussed with you should fees exceed those listed. Additional screeners are charged between $150.00 and $300.00.
  • Additional services or needs for assessments are charged at $195.00 per hour.
  • Where travel is required, this is charged at $90.00 per hour.
