In the past year (2022/23), CatholicCare Tasmania offered secure emergency accommodation for 64 young women at our AK Young Women's Emergency Accommodation in southern Tasmania, totalling 1,846 nights of safe emergency accommodation. Additionally, we provided over 25,000 instances of support, including accommodation, practical aid, meals, information, advice, referrals to external resources, and personal living skills development.
We are deeply grateful for the generous assistance we receive from various parts of the community to create a warm and welcoming environment at AK.
We thank Edna and Judy from Kingborough Helping Hands once again, for organising a shopping trip this week to purchase essential winter supplies for the young women who access our emergency accommodation. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Jamie Oakley and the team at Oakley Textiles for their invaluable support.
