CatholicCare shines at Employment Expo

May 2023

The first ever Tasmanian Southern Catholic College Careers Expo was held in May at the MAC 02 event centre in Hobart. More than 2000 Catholic school students from Year 9-12 attended the Expo as they looked to discover their career pathways.

CatholicCare Tasmania was well represented at the Expo with staff occupying two booths.

“There is so much choice and competition in the marketplace that we have be at these expos to explain what the CatholicCare difference is compared to other organisations,” said Executive Manager People and Culture Alayne Baker.

“Talking with our counsellors, youth workers, team leaders and psychologists or our educators from our different programs we operate gave students the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge about what it takes to work in the various careers we offer at CatholicCare.”

Ms Baker attended the Expo and was pleased to see so many ‘young, fresh faces’ who were energised and seeking more information about CatholicCare Tasmania.

“Our experts and specialists helped students develop their career aspirations by showing them what we do and explaining the qualifications they need to follow a certain career path.

“There was a sense of pride today from our people as they talked about their jobs and careers with CatholicCare.”
